YES CONFERENCE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!!!!

Ten MQHYA members traveled to Amarillo,TX on a roadtrip to remember.  National directors, Kalee McCann and Mary Claire Cornett, had arrived early to prepare for the leadership conference.   While in Amarillo, Kalee was elected AQHYA Vice President, and Mary Claire was elected AQHYA Teasurer.  Enjoy the pictures from our trip, and make plans to attend YES in 2014 in College Station, TX.

MQHYA RETREAT 2012
On Saturday, November 17th, MQHYA hosted it first retreat.  The MQHYA members met at the Jackson Hotel & Suites near the fairgrounds for a meeting and eating, followed by a few games and activities.  Next the group traveled to Christmas on Ice in Madison where they were treated to ice skating, ice sliding, a beautiful light display choreographed to music, and a concert by the Mississippi Boys' Choir.
Everyone tested their ice skating skills.  As expected, the ice was the BIG winner when these cowboys and cowgirls swapped their boots for skates.   There were some bumps and bruises but no bones were broken. (Wyatt broke his ankle weeks before)   With great hot chocolate to keep them warm, MQHYA members enjoyed the challenge of the ice and the fellowship with each other.   Before everyone headed on their way, members, parents, and advisors had a little snack by "tailgating" in the parking lot.  While having a snack for the road, plans were made for the MQHYA 2013 retreat-- A YEARLY EVENT!!!
